The Strong

The force of the past, is heavy on my back From the wars I faced, I am weary and have many cracks But despite my appearance, and my many fears Something grows, and builds, and tears it's way free Making ways for the good to save you and me The war is not done, the struggle is not over The fight will not stop, even if I fall So I will rise, steady and tall And fight for the right, to be what I dream Even if people can't see That I may burst from the seams The war in me, continues to rage But a voice within me, loud and strange Tells me to get up, and open my eyes I have a job to do, to help the dying And those who have stopped trying The Voice that whispers in your ear The one you cannot see, the one you feel It tells you remember, it asks you to heal But the Whispers make us not see How special we are, you and me The War is in us all, the one that we hide We think we are alone, that no one is on our side The tiny Whispers, they think they have won They think the deed has come, and the job is done But the Voice is there to say that you are wrong The War has not come to a finish The Battle has just begun So don't quit, Don't think it's done Join the fight, and if you have a burden Tell me, I will help and carry the load It is a new start, this old dusty road So fight with me, me and you Even if it's just us, just us two We can still change all the wrong We can become the Strong
