Strong

It’s not for myself, but for You That I will stay strong. Any remaining morsel of self-worth Has fled But I will not hurt you Again. I swear on my very Life That courses through my body to my Soul. Even as I’m dropping, Wind screaming past my ears and My insides are in my throat and My head swells like a balloon, I must remember that soon The crash will be over, I will Burn alive But then be reborn from the ashes once more; Once more I must face the faces I’ve let down with me. Even as I’m dying, I must remember to Dive with courage, A super-cape snapping behind me, Valiantly aiming towards the inevitable Catastrophe. And I must remember to always Stand up again and welcome Pain Like an old friend over for tea: Because if I were alone I would surely Let myself succumb to the savory silence. But knowing you’re there with me, I now refuse to flirt with destruction Anymore. To you I remain faithful and Strong So you won’t ever feel the Fragility of falling Like I do.
