Strong and Persevering

I am strong and persevering. I wonder if I'll be happy, one year from now. I hear the bells of silence. I see the light in the distance. I only want to be happy. I am strong and persevering. I pretend that I still matter, I feel like all has changed. I touch the memories like a whisper, I worry they won't fade. I cry that they're still haunting me. I am strong and persevering. I understand things happen for a reason, I say that I'm okay. I dream of letting troubles go, I try to just move on. I pray that this is fair. I am strong and persevering.
