Strong because I loved you

Because I love you…

You should be willing to wait

Because I love you, you should always be there

Because I love you, you should never look at another the way you look at me

But because I love you

Does it make it okay to underestimate me

To crush, tear, and break me

Is the thought of losing me worth it to you?

Because I love you I would be willing to sacrifice everything for you

My time

My life

My everything

Because I love you…

Does it make it okay for me to allow you chance after chance,

To prove that you are worthy of being with me

Or maybe because I love you

I’m blinded by the overwhelming feelings between us

Or maybe because I love you I’m the only one that feels this way

Do you think because I love you that makes it okay to manipulate me and take advantage of me

Because I love you I know now that I need to let go to save myself

Because I love you I’m the only one that is truly in it for me, for you, for us

Because I love you I was deaf to the cruel words that span from your sweets lips,

Now realizing that they were slowly peeling away at my corrupted view of you

Because I love you it’s time to let go for me
