Stronger
To my Speech Disorder,
I don’t even know much about you.
Heck, I don’t even remember how I met you.
I know you think you’ve destroyed my life.
Perhaps, you’re happy about it.
Do you expect me to say sorry a million times?
Or how about get on my knees and beg for forgiveness?
Well.
Listen up.
You’re wrong.
Actually, I would like to thank you.
Thank you for making me stronger.
Thank you for granted me with a reason to work even harder.
Thank you for allowing me to meet amazing people.
Thank you for forcing me to explore.
Thank you for making me realize that challenges don’t define you,
but rather how you conquer those obstacles.
I used to feel bad for myself.
Insecure.
Ashamed.
Angry.
Not anymore.
This is my life and I’m going to live it how I want.
You will not take anything from me.
Absolutely nothing.
You can stick around for as long as you’d like.
Just know that I’ll be ready for you.
I’m not afraid anymore.
Sincerely,
The Stronger Me
