Stronger Person

When I was younger and more naive,

I cared about what people thought of me.

Are they mad at me?

Was that rude to say?

Do they like me?

All these questions swarmed inside of my head

One day I became an adult,

And realized that none of this mattered.

One person changed my whole mindset,

And for that I am truly grateful.

They didn't like me, they never liked me,

And that was okay, I realized.

Because they would never like me,

No matter how hard I tried,

And that was okay

Because it doesn't really matter whether people like me or not.

That was something I had to learn for myself

And that lesson is what made me a stronger person.
