The Strongest Anthem

The world's shortest song, perhaps,
Is just one word
It is poetic and kind
Yet it sends chills down one's spine
To think that one could be different from the rest
That one could be better or the best
This song flows deep within the heart,
It is a light, a beacon in the dark
A hymn for the minority
And the priorities
It is a cry,
Pleading to stand out
A word with which people die
When they proclaim it
Yes, it is beautiful
And naive
Used to woo, and to deceive
Knowing this and much more,
You'd think one could understand
The value of the word at hand
Yet many can not fathom,
"I" is the strongest anthem.
