The Struggle

My parents

have always striven to achieve their goals,

which at their time,

were to be able to provide for their family and attain a successful job.

The obstacle?

They escaped from Vietnam to America.

They arrived in America when they were around 18,

Had to learn everything on their own.

Held multiple part-time jobs and had trouble learning English

Had even more trouble speaking it!

They were able to reach their goals, however,

due to their grit determination

and excessive amount of loans they had to ask for.

In order to achieve their goals,

Now they are not able to pay for all of my college fund.

I hope someday,

To go to the college I desire,

Achieve my goal of becoming a doctor,

Help lessen the burden off my parents,

And finally,

To make my parents proud,

because in achieving this,

I will be able to pay back my parents for all that they have done for me.
