The Struggle

(This is dedicated to all those around me in the struggle) /Looked you square in your eye and told you that your and my mother's struggle will not be in vain, Through my eyes you could witness that triumph will overcome pain. You passed away in your sleep and I saw you in my dreams and asked you to explain to me how was it to witness heaven. That tie you gave me this past Christmas will be worn when I get that diploma/ /Flew through a windshield and woke up in the pen facing a twenty year sentence, Your my inspiration staying strong in the middle of hell As far as I can tell is you're like my guardian angel always wishing the best for me Every Sunday in church I see your mom with tears in her eyes praying for your release/ /If I knew a man who inspired me it is you, homeless during high school but you never quit Now you're headed to Santa Clara University on a full ride scholarship Can't wait to see you blow up in the business industry because you helped me feel the presence of God and I thank you for that/ /You've been homeless as well and a witness of homicide how does it feel now that you're about to become a millionaire? I'm so happy for you bro/ /Don't think that I don't love you because there's few things I place above you I just want you to pay off your fines and avoid getting locked up and get your education and a bright future let your homeboy know that I wish the same for him too/ /Dear Grandma I love you, you are strong and although you have been a victim of severe domestic violence you're still quick to pray for God to protect the whole family and you inspire me to treat my future queen with nothing but respect and love/ /Dear Father you got to find strength and see the light in the darkness Because a man is suppose to carry his whole family on his back please inspire me and help me follow my dreams through blind faith to make it a reality./ /Dear Mother you are the strongest of all. All men will fall to their knees through the obstacles they face before you do, because you are special./ /We got to stay strong bro through this sea of depression born into poverty but I see the potential in you to be wealthy and to be the catalyst of your family's progression I love you bro let's get this dough and leave a mark on this planet/ /Dear sister please follow your dreams managing ex-convicts at this moment but you have higher aspirations to have power and collect the CREAM You will get there in no time because you are a queen who deserves to be on the throne and direct her goals to be fulfilled/ /How old are you bro? Life has dealt you a lot, your dear mother has passed away and you saw the police arresting your pops You're repeating the fourth grade and your peers are giving you a hard time but don't trip off the haters, Please remember the advice I gave you, believe that you can achieve and your dreams will proceed/
