Struggle Forward
Good morning.
The birth of a new day comes in bright colors
A cool breeze and the buzzing sound of an alarm clock.
Good morning world that is half asleep.
World that works tirelessly so that we may work tirelessly
For an employer unforgiving and unknowing what strife
His employees struggle.
Good morning.
To the women, mothers, and fathers and men
Who disrupt their peaceful dreams so that American dream
Cannot go out for their children to achieve.
That dream of pure love and happiness
Where no evil or darkness can tug at the toes of oblivious
Children playing in the golden fields of riches and adventure.
Good morning to those parents who work tirelessly!
Though they question their worthiness of their children
Do they not realize how proud as a lion I am of my mother?
My mother, my mother
Do you not know that I know your struggle?
I may not be a mother but you have raised me strong and wise
Just enough to comprehend your struggle.
The blood you bleed to ensure a good home to rest our heads.
The tears you wept to God to ensure that your prayers have not gone
Unanswered.
The sweat you sweat to ensure that your hard work pays off
For the beautiful children you labored over for 22 years,
Good morning to you mother, my mother.
Good morning to me and my siblings, good morning to us.
My brother you work to survive instead of working to live.
I pray for you my brother.
My sister you work to live though you struggle without
The thoughts of our father.
My father I pray thee safety on behalf of our country, and
Come home with a clear mind and heart or just come home.
I pray for you my father and my sister.
My little darling sister you work for perfection and pleasure
For those who may not be pleased.
You work for those who do not watch you show.
I have been your second mother and all I ask now before I go
Please, good sister, do it for you and find yourself in your mess.
I pray for you my darling little sister.
Good morning my beautiful family.
I work, I work for something.
I prepare myself for the solar winds you throw at me
I will survive in the tireless world war we call Wall Street
I dream of a future. I dream of hope. Good morning the sun.
