A Struggle to Light
A rope up a mountain
To a beauty of light
A cliff down below
A darkness never ending
If I slip it will burn
Im fighting my way up
Rocks will fall
And make me slip
But somehow I manage
To keep my grip.
I'll look around
And There's so many ropes
ropes that are broken
Ropes that are tearing
Theres no strong rope
Not even mine
I often slip
Oh and it burns
As I slip further
I hear cries
Cries that are smothered
Smothered with darkness
At the end of the ropes
I yell down to the bottom
I yell keep climbing
Don't give up
One rope gets thin
and it begins to snap
but right before it snapped
I grabbed a hand
My rope became stronger
but was holding more weight
The light became brighter
And My rope I could see
was tied to most forgiving
blood stained tree
