The Struggle of the Sea

Chained to the sea 

oppressed by its waves and torturous tides

to conform or be prepared to die

that's the decision the Little Mermaid must make 

there is more than just her life at stake

the future of mermaids and man alike

lie in her grasp 

she knows she must fight

all her life she's been told what she can and can't do

but in her heart, she knows it's all not true

she realizes now that her voice is power

that she will no longer cower

in fear to the sea witch who shall fall 

breaking down numerous barriers and walls

and all will rejoice

that they finally have a choice

thanks to the Little Mermaid who was unafraid to use her voice.
