The Struggles

Born on October 2, 1994 was little ole me Now I’m 18 reading a poem to my class & Mrs. B I weighed 8lbs. 5oz., the nurses say Coming out 20 ½ inches that very day My first set of stitches involved my older brothers when I was 18 months old The metal swing hit me on my cheek, so that’s what I was told Had blonde curly hair that looked kinda like a wig With glasses at age 2 making my eyes so big Miss Shelly’s dance school was where I first started ballet Leotards & Tutus, having a field day At first I was really shy not wanting to move But my teacher helped by busting a groove After ballet I started one of my favorite sports of all Dribbling and shooting my Spalding basketball At age 4 I went to Florida and split my chin open in the pool Not being able to swim with stitches the rest of the week wasn’t very cool I went to Texas too, for a baseball game Got a ball signed by A-Rod at the beginning of his fame The next vacation I went to was Cancun, Mexico Playing games, seeing Mayan ruins, always on the go Jamaica however had the best food of all I even got to climb up Dunn’s River Falls At the pool we played football, I had to be the blocker Competitive volleyball games too like Meet the Fockers That summer I spent a lot of time with my grandfather who had severe Alzheimer’s The greatest man that was in my life, I will always remember When summer ended and freshman year began Basketball pre-season equals suicides over and over again Sophomore year was even more difficult than that My ankle injury having me out of season 1 month flat In school I met my best friend Katie in my science class Still really close, hoping through college it will last Junior year went by really fast Union’s school events were always a blast After that year I became a lifeguard Getting a tan on stand wasn’t really hard Now my senior year started to come around Back to school bash and unforgettable hoedown Black light dance full of fist pumping fun The Redskin Nation will always be #1 Prom coming and the graduation near Leaving Mrs. B’s class will leave me with tears Going off to college and leaving this behind will be pretty scary However the treasured memories I had made, I shall carry Mrs. Beeman’s 5th hour please remember this All of you guys in here I will truly miss
