Strutting & Naked
You want their
affection
but your words
to disdain
I voted for you
thrice
and would do so
again
But the many
unsold
who vote
with their heart
Abandon you now
as your
ego
cavorts
Assuming
your schtick
is attractive
to all
You strut like
the ‘Emperor’
and naked
befall
Overlooking
the obvious
what the simplest
man knows
To be liked
is a mandate
and lost
— in your show

Your Poem's Voice
Mix of personal political stance and abstract commentary on leadership vanity.
Dense clusters of ideas: voting loyalty, abandonment, narcissism, mandate loss compressed tightly.
Strongly negative: disillusionment, betrayal, contempt toward political figure dominate.
Sharp accusations, staccato phrasing, aggressive tone create kinetic tension throughout.
Approximately 10-12 lines; fits 7-15 range.
Emperor allusion, strutting metaphor, naked imagery, mandates as currency.
Primarily lyric voice with accusatory tone; slight narrative of voting history emerges.
