Stuck

I have to do it on my on,
In this cold world feeling alone.
The temptations and the trials,
Leaves me walking for miles and miles.
I have asked for help but now im stuck,
Looking for a home but seeing no luck.
All of my bridges have been burned,
It has left me feeling very concerned.
I have always strived to experience love,
It seems like no one hears me except from above.
I tend to think negative things,
But lets see what my life brings.
You're supposed to walk with your head held high,
I find myself walking like I am saying goodbye.
People try to put good thoughts in my head,
"You're pretty and smart" is what they said.
When I look in the mirror I see sorrow and pain,
That's what it looks like inside my brain.
Life goes on so I try to smile,
Even if its fake I try it for awhile.

I am currently 24 years of age. I grew up in a small town located in North Carolina. I went through sexual, mental, and physical abuse in my years. My escape for a long time was drugs and writing. I am working on my sobriety after being an addict for 8+ years. I realized I need to get clean after overdosing more than 10 times. I just moved to Florida with my fiancé (she doesn't use) in hopes to start fresh in life.
