Stuck (Confined)

Locked-up in my own subconscious

Second guessing every thought,

Every step is expected to be a mistake.

Worried about the opinions of others

I destroy any chances of being an individual.

Started to fall in line with this cookie-cutter world.

Meeting the expectations of those people who

Made none for me

Chained down by the fear of standing out

And being judged or made fun of.

Refusing to participate in my own life,

Thinking that is the “cool” thing to do,

I prevent any opportunity of showing just

How smart I really am.

Confined in the exact cycle that

Other young men with my complexion find themselves in

Sooner than later.
