Student Life

I am a student

I am a student

I have a disability you can’t see

I have a disability you can see

I have mental barriers

I have physical barriers

I am reliant on my parents

I am reliant on my parents

But, I am still able to do the things I love

I can still do the things I love, but with extra help

I see a therapist and I am learning how to break these barriers

I see many therapists and am learning how to overcome these barriers

I am not brought down by this disability

I am not brought down by this disability.

I am determined to do great things

I am determined to create great things

I go to school everyday, filled with anxiety

I go to school everyday, filled with hope

Anxiety of socializing with my peers, due to ridicule

Hope for being recognized as one with my peers

My peers brought me down, now I cannot get up

My peers brought me up, now I can’t be brought down

But my disability doesn’t define me

But my disability doesn’t define  me
