Student Loan Collectors

Dear Student Loan Collectors,

Signing my name on that dotted line,

and trusting the success of my own future;

I didn't think about the debt I would accrue.

Oh! But how I yearned to one day sew sutures.

Though to me treating and curing is not about a dollar sign,

"Doctors make a lot of money"

But Student Loan Collectors, I do wish

To spend my days volunteering in Africa, isn't that funny?

I don't wish to chase a fancy black Amex that shines,

Instead focus on my patients, family and friends - and I think that's just fine.

Respectfully,

The Debt-ridden Dreamer
