to the students like me
to the students who are just like me.
your mind is wrapped in a ribbon of anxiety and your body is boxed in a shell of self doubt.
you stayed up for three hours last night to make sure you knew everything humanly possible to know about chemistry and the bags under your eyes are the first hand witness to that.
your mom still tells you to study more and that you don’t apply yourself enough and you start to think that it’s true.
your body is now weak and all that you can remember is that the mitochondria is the power house of the cell and that isn’t even freaking chemistry! but to the students who are just like me, breath.
take a second to breath.
untie the ribbons from your mind and rip apart the box that is holding you from the world and holding you from yourself.
the bags under your eyes are like little trophies saying “yeah!! maybe i stayed up on my phone all night or yeah!! i studied for three hours for a test i know im going to fail for sure!.”
step in front of a mirror and tell your brain that you are the powerhouse to your life.
