Study

I wrote with my fingertips across his flesh toned skin with the permanent ink of my memory.
Memorizing and underlining the important parts of him.
Freckles speckled across the bridge of his nose,
Birthmark discolored on the nape of his neck,
The sweep of his collarbone as it goes from shoulder to shoulder.
Smile like an upside down frown, the crescent moon that lit the path of my darkest moments.
They tell us we are young but with two dollars in our pockets and his fistful of nickles we are only twenty five cents away from forever.
Take a bus and ride off to the sun as it leaks like liquid over the horizon.
Trying to love the skies I'm under, feel the sea foam wash over my body, your eyes scanning every inch of me.
But right now, let me memorize and underline the important parts of you.
