The Stuggle

A love so strong what could break it in two?

A love so great smiles and laughter stay.

Until the word of a sargent says it's through.

Its september and he'll be gone til May.

Tears roll down my face as you prepare to move.

"Why?' I scream but there's nothing left to say.

It's the ultimate test of a couple's love.

It's the price a military couple pay.

It is the price soldiers have to take.

My worry and my doubt won't stay at bay.

My heart is twisted my smile fades.

"What can I do?" I ask all you say is "Pray".

The journey begins for him for me it ends.

My heart goes over seas with him never to mend.

I had to write a sonnet in my English class and thought I would use it for this scholarship.
