Styrofoam Dreams

Whilst walking down the sidewalk,

she saw a large Styrofoam fountain drink.

Damn it, she thought, why do people litter?

She went home slightly irritated.

Whilst walking down the sidewalk three days later,

she saw a medium Styrofoam fountain drink next to the other.

Interesting, she thought, someone is bored.

She went home slightly intrigued.

Whilst walking down the sidewalk two days later,

she saw a can of Diet Coke next to the others.

Funny, she thought, someone has a sense of humor.

She went home slightly amused.

Whilst walking down the sidewalk later that night,

she saw a broken Styrofoam cup,

another on its side,

and a can crushed.

She went home slightly saddened.
