Subject No. 23

Fri, 08/30/2013 - 18:10 -- Maude B

Location

Subject wakes up.

Two dozen lashes.

Leaves spring from the trees.

Subject falls asleep.

It can’t stay awake it seems.

Doors: A, B, and C

Out of three, no door will admit how similar it is to the next.

Subject instinctively goes to C.

But it clings to A.

It knows B too well for comfort.

Subject waits for passersby to turn and look, then looks away.

Subject trusts no one.

Subject wants to trust everyone.

Subject is confused but reassuring.

Subject gives comfort.

Subject thinks it’s different.

Subject thinks it’s special.

Subject thinks it’s nothing.

Subject has no diagnosis we can easily discover.

Subject has no illness we know how to fix.

Case thrown out.
