Subliminal Oasis

Lost in the desolation of the desert, our minds create mirages from disorientation

And we just accept it and pursue it as an outlet for salvation

Like a nefarious villain, tricked and swindled; a brittle apparatus of bone and tissue -- soul insubstantial.

We are consumed by delusions and phantom opportunities,

As defeat sets in, you regress all of your efforts and surrender to the demise of your tarnished spirit

You lie helpless as the sandstorm swallows you up into submission

The heavens are but a hazy reflection of your hopes drifting past you at the speed of light as you dwindle away

Away from sanity,

Away from the pain

Away from all the adversaries you so very disdain
