Submarine

I feel like I’m left out at sea

Knowing no one is coming to rescue me

After I’ve given up and sunken down

I realize that I’m not going to drown

Being here underwater makes me think of life

As more than just a bother

But beneath the crashing waves,

Where happy thoughts implode under the pressure

And angry screams travel faster than ever,

It’s not my choice to stay

Deep below me great plates shift

But I drift on slow currents, unnoticed
