Substance

Substance

My lips are glued shut.
There is nothing I can say, unable to utter a word,
Just groans and half hearted laughs.
Only sometimes do they understand the meaning
My voice box is muffled by fear
Detached as I float off.
The pressure rises, an unbearable weight
Penetrating the sanity of my consciousness
I wait for madness.
An indiscretion of depression
Parched for knowledge yet paralyzed
Unable to scoff a reply.
My opponent envelopes me
Wholeheartedly.
The intentions were sincere
The strain was incredible
But the nag, the constructive nature,
Stuns into silence.
Angst commands victory, defeat seems inevitable,
The fracture left unattended hangs limp.
Effortless despair and self righteous failure
Awaits.
Inner worth submerges.

And yet
In the silence of thoughts,
Life endures.
The ticking ache of function proceeds.
The climactic rapture of essence
Masquerades Creation.
Revival stirs.
Petitioning philosophy
For faith is hidden there
Folded beneath the urgency of stage.

Imagination has not conceived
Abiding love.
Nothing can repress,
None can contain
The upheaval of substance.
The surge of exertion flows endlessly
Leaving complexity in the wake.

Collapsing composure
Models fortitude
But the composition is fluid,
Retracting and reacting
Infinitely.
With a silent allie
Humility stands while movement transpires
Rapid compensation
Building reserved stability
Solidifies fibers.

Constituting consistency
Fabricates confidence
Embraced I am numb,
Crystallized by the the sheer notion of madness.
Questions settle in
A thick fog clouds fact
Theories face obliteration
Leaving only awe.
Cleansed
Nothing is held back
No limit to clemency.

Erect
Unyielding
Life persists.
