Substance Abuse

I drank the poison,

And became addicted.

You warned me to ease off of it,

Then you went and flipped it.

You became addicted to my addiction.

But when I lost my supply,

You made sure I got high,

And I became dependent.

I looked to you for it all,

And you just let me fall

Until I lost myself in you.

You knew I needed guidance,

Every time I tried to get clean,

You'd tell me I was misguided,

Then continue to be my supplier.

I became addicted to a drug

Commonly known as "love"

And it resembled you.

But no drug will ever mess me up

The way you do.
