successful

so proud I can be so successful

he can’t touch me— he keeps on trying

those horns don’t scare me,

for the lord stands with me.

when things get so challenging

I’ll grab on too his hand,

pulling me out of the sand

my talents are finally sparking

I can see the fire in my eyes

I can see ideas start to collide.

I feel so successful like rich gold

people in the past said

 “I’ll never be worthy”

“Your dreams are far to reach”

guess who is still running

your words of downgrading are old

your scars are like dust on every page

you tried to pull me down in chains

Hehe  I escaped.

knowing my beauty

with my identity

I can say I’m successful

I know who I am

In the end false accusations

don’t mean anything

letting those walls tumble down

this wrecking ball still swings strong

I feel so happy

I can say I’m successful

Maya Angelou once said

“Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud”

quotes change people and crowds

broken free— the sky calls for me

“how are you so confident”?

learning from those trials

traveling thousands of miles

that journey was worth taking

wouldn’t change anything

every piece fits perfect like

a masterpiece.

Im successful

In life I danced in my rain and storms

look where I got and how my heart formed?

I took risks and made big impacts

becoming the person who I am today.

those starry nights became my life

that morning sky became my smile

I’m successful

my story will be told

I’ll hear it billions of time like echoes.
