Succession

When all my friends are dead or dying And nothing in this world can keep from crying I’ll visit each one By his or her bedside And recall the youth once in their eyes And although they’re withered and gray Clasping their hands I will pray To each their own God, To all their own slaves I will pray, I will pray, I will pray Because into the world we are born alone And once each child is delivered to its home The night and day and day and night will come and go And flip and turn and meld and glow And once that love for which we love to yearn Has taken root and grown very firm We must all leave the nest and plant new seeds We must breed, we must breed, we must breed
