Sudden Shadows
Far aside in the endless abyss
You look up and see that something's amiss.
Nevermore was there a more saddening sight
then to see the sudden brightness of light.
Skin burned,
People screamed.
Then silence returned
...Or so it seemed.
The wave of heat swept over you head
The only instant when you knew you were dead.
Shadows on the street,
Shadows on the wall.
Could anyone tell that you had existed at all?
Of course they could ,for they had known,
that all life would wither when they were shown
The undulant sphere of vibrant might,
Illuminated the darkness and extinguished the light.
Now the world has developed a monster for the sake of all
but who could know that it made us so small?
Like little ants running around without a clue
about what one small, free falling bomb could do.
Now all you have is an ashen street
reflecting the time of immeasurable heat.
Staining the time of matter and space.
To somehow finish their never-ending race.
When will people understand?
When will they see?
That life only thrives when there is time to be?
No endless wasteland.
No polluted seas.
To comprehend the end is when enlightenment will be.
Make the light in the sky be not for war,
but light up people's lives
let this thing become but lore.
