The Suffering behind Not Suffering
I stand their idly listening to the stories of suffering,
Only to suffer myself for not measuring up.
Why do I not compare in terms of pain?
Why must I tolerate not having to tolerate?
Why must I see my life in the light versus the dark?
Question not the situation but the person.
So I plea for empathy, yet I feel none.
