Suffering's Sonnet

Suffering's Sonnet

In life we suffer day in and day out

It's fate's curse upon every man and child

No mind can comprehend without a doubt

when our hardened hearts can rejoice beguiled.

Though we know that suffering produces

perseverance; perseverance, character;

and character, hope - we make excuses

in which our goals and dearest dreams deter.

Fear not, however, for hope lies ahead

Joy and everlasting peace is avail

Kill our Earthly bodies now down and dead

and rejoice with Him who we proudly hail.

Suffering is not real, an illusion

'Til the day one's life reach its conclusion.
