Suffocating One Last Time

Driving on the way to a place

A place where harsh words met harsh faces

Where empty hearts met empty faces

Where passion meets the passionless

A place where all this happens

Is called hell

But where I come from it is called a:

Volleyball court

Passion can only be stolen if you let them take it

That is what they tell me

They, the outsiders non players non coached athletes

The audience

How would you feel if someone constantly torn you down?

Made you feel like nothing?

Mmm you wouldn’t like it would you

I on the other hand just have to take it

The verbal abuse pain loss of confidence

All from someone who bullies me my coach of the volleyball

I could never say something or defend myself

WHY?

Was I weak or scared?

Was I afraid to let someone know that I would not be treated that way?

One day I had enough and climbed to the top of my fear rising like a

Phoenix from ashes of my older self

I said something

It wasn’t just one thing it was everything I let the pain from a

hundred cuts leave this body

this body who could now stand up for her self

it felt like the rain had poured and now a rainbow was free to be herself

I was now the conqueror of my fears and volleyball coaches
