in this suffocating silence

talking is the only way to save what we have but

I'm running out of things to say

I have trouble staying quiet

not because there are a lot of things I've left unsaid

but because the silence is too painful to bear

you say nothing but

at the same time, you're saying

everything.

all the words you won't utter

are being heard through the very act

of keeping your mouth closed.
