Sugar-Lipped Girl

Sugar lips Rosy cheeks Bubblegum pink Perfect hips I seek “Just another drink” Her eyes Her face She’s probably a doll Why can’t I have it all? Look at her, just look at her Isn’t she a treat? Pregnant women may offer her seat. But oh my dearest diary, what’s wrong with me? My eyes don’t look like hers, not just as free. What about my hair though? It isn’t as neat, Picture perfect body, oh it's all I need. her skin’s so so clean, it just glows. like light that knows just where to go and the hair on her head, it just flows like it never learned what tangling’s supposed to be! but oh dear diary, just look at me, frizz where smooth hair should always be my skin like moonlight left too long not glowing right, just always slightly wrong, and slightly wrong, and slightly wrong again like thoughts that don’t know when or where to end I try to fix everything that won’t stay still but it slips right back, and it always will how Jack and Jill fall down a forgotten hill my younger self following still Oh dearest diary, it’s been a year And nothing’s even changed yet, and I do fear That I’m still trying to be a Sugar-lipped girl.
