a suicide note on twitter

on my dash from someone i’ve never known

i think someone i followed had replied

had urged you to wait

had asked you to rethink

it’s strange because i’ll never know if you are still alive

some part of me hopes you are,

but,

that single screen shot of your phone’s lockscreen seemed pretty final

i can’t remember the words you had typed - words that could have been your last -

expect for one: “goodbye”.

so goodbye twitter user with your life in your hands

hands that had held your phone to wish us your best; to wish friends, to wish family, to wish strangers on the internet like me a goodbye.

and i can’t say we didn’t deserve you

i never knew you

and i can’t say i will miss you

but what i can say is that i’m so fucking sorry

and

goodnight.
