Being called N-Word
How many times?
Being underestimated because I am a Black woman
Several times
Snubbed because I am Black
Too many times
Ignored because I am a woman
Lots of times
A look of surprise and a frown when I say that my mother read to me
Countless times
Education and hard work devalued
So many times
Assumed to have come from poverty
A few times
People shocked when they find out that I have a relationship with my father
Lots of times
Called other derogatory names used for African-Americans
More than a couple of times
Not trusted because of my race
Numerous times
The sum of this all
Too many damn times
