Summer

Sunshine beaming golden heat

For lots of fun outdoors;

Vacations, for a sweet retreat

To mountains, plains and shores.

Dogs running in the wind

And flowers in the yard

Performing spectacular shows

With the neighboring St. Bernard

Kids in constant summer motion,

Free from teacher's power,

Lathered thick  in suntan lotion,

At the beach or the  pool.

The smell of burgers fill the air

Hotdogs,and sausage to

Kids Laughing and playing at a town fair

Oh, what a wonderful view

Rafts on which to float,

Camping and Outdoor gear,

Swimming or Diving or speed  boat,

Call Out  summer's here.

Things not possible the rest of the year

Are summer's wonderful treasures;

Please summer, dawdle long,

And render us with all your breathtaking pleasures!

From when the first flower bulbs poke their heads toward the sun,

Golden daffodils, hyacinths, too;

To  the  vibrant grass, and the wildflowers bloom,

The world knows summer has made its debut.

Again we awake from the gloomy dream,

our our bodies revive;

Enjoying all delight in summers joyous sight;

makes us glad we're alive!
