Summer

The green,

So bold against the blue,

So bright against the frame of life.

>>>>>

As I look through the photos in the box,

The box that mom kept put up,

I stopped at this image. Why?

>>>>>

What was so special about this photo?

There were plenty just like it,

Of days in the sun,

Of summer days with family,

Of mornings playing outside.

>>>>>

So why does this photo matter?

Is it because it burns in my memory?

>>>>>

That day, that morning,

So bright, so bold in my memory.

The football in flight,

The grass under feet,

The hot air and sweat,

>>>>>

The memories of summer days,

Without care, without problems.

Those days, of only love and fun.
