Summer Day #1

I like to Laugh, but listen more,

to anything she wants to say.

I’d rather tell her things that matter.

because someday, when they won’t

This very grass we lie on will die,

and the light will no longer pass through the leaves.

It will fade to moonlight; times tale goes,

And no longer graze the tip of her nose.

But here's to fear and curiosity,

because hers is something I love so dearly.

And the reason bugs like to bite you first,

is simply because you’re sweeter than most.
