Summer Day

It's a hot summers day with no air

no air conditioning

no wind

and it's suffocating and you scratch

you claw and you can't escape

the thoughts won't go away and nothing works

It's the inevitable ride

you find yourself on it over

and over

and over again

you look in the mirror and punch the reflection

but it's not hate

if I change my hair

If I change my nose

the sickness takes a toll

Never satisfied

The thirst in never quenched

and you pull your hair and scream

it doesn't get better

no wind, inhale

suffocating, breathe

scratching and clawing, fight

and the ride is over

once again, for just a little while
