Summer Daze

Morning song of birds chirping fill my ears

Golden rays of light seep through the window

After a long winter the skies are clear

Sunflowers and daffodils start to grow

Fresh flowers blooming under the sunshine

The smell of grass from a freshly cut lawn

I see bright blue skies and bad tan lines

The worrisome nightmares of school long gone

Quickly replaced by dreams of summer day

Finally feeling free from the stresses

No more cloudy weather, so dark and gray

Instead of sweaters, we’ll wear sundresses

What a beautiful picture summer paints

For this, I don’t have a lot of complaints
