Summer June 21- September 21

I sit here, in the damp grass

wondering why you are gone.

I am the one who sits in class,

Waiting for the warm sun. But it is dawn.

The days were clear

Because they were the longest of the year.

Mother has cut you off,

For a new one.

People start to cough

For the new run.

The damp blanket betrayed

you. It made your body fade.

As I wonder

about how I will move on.

I noticed how people didn’t even ponder

at the thought. Why would the yawn

of sleepy people change. It didn’t even matter

to them. All hopes of you will shatter.

When you left this colorful earth

the world was devastated. However they went

on with life. It was a new birth,

to a new season. A new scent

of fall fills the air. Nothing was better,

not even the sweaters.

You may have gone

But I will not forget.

I must move on.

I will always remember the sweat

That was caused. I will always regret

The time lost. But now it is damp and wet.
