Summer song

The sound of the cicadas
Is the last summer song,

The residue of California
Of the hot yellow sun,

The cry of the wild man,
And the feel of warm sand,

The sticky lips from candy's kiss,
The sunburn on your knees,

The sound of the cicadas,
Is the last summer song
