Summer's End

Wed, 07/17/2013 - 00:40 -- xfroz16

Eyes in a haze

Rotund stomachs, child’s play

Smooth lawn, shaded concrete- taut, cool

Here I man my wagon

Tears erupt to greet the wind

Hairs along my cheek

Tongue on the edge of wet lips

Warm skin.

Unquiet streets

A hugging sighupon my shoulders—

Jostled

 I stop to view

Glinting tailpipes, striped shirts

Sticky hands, high smiles, red popsicles

As I cruise into summer’s end.
