The Sun
At the center of all sits the sun,
Orbited, revered by everyone.
She gives her warmth, her light and her life,
Yet she lives in lonely pain and strife.
Glorious as her setting may be,
It’s a glorious prison she isn’t free.
Her closest friends always must stay
93 million miles away.
Doomed to be seen by all, known by none.
Her curse? To care about everyone.
The sun sits on high and sees all.
Grimly she watches as you all fall.
As she shines she seems cheerful to you.
However, my eyes see more than yours do.
