The Sun
Flower petals turn their faces
And rain drops sparkle in all the right places
Golden rays warm the earth
As springtime shows its rebirth.
Like a sweet nectar I drink it in
As the light shines in the din.
When tears fall on a particular day,
It warms them, heals them, wipes them away.
Terror and sadness and fear all gone.
Darkness is conquered with hope for the dawn.
And nightmares crawl back into the shadows
As the haunting moon becomes transposed
Into the the fiery star in the sky;
A thing that helps me soar and fly
Like a sweet nectar I drink it in
As the light shines in the din.
Never would I know when life could have ended or begun
Without the warmth of my beloved Sun.
