The Sun and The Moon

The sun and the moon

Two opposing views

One brings light and joy

The other darkness and tranquillity

One fills the body with laughter and cheer

While the other touches the soul

With stories left untold

Two opposing forces,

Yet somehow you are

The light in my dark

And the calm in my day

When you are near

My jaw mildly aches

as you fill this mortal vessel

with more joy than

it can possibly take.

Before I met you

I could never have imagined

That a boy

Could move into my heart

And build a fortress from

The broken pieces inside.

Before I loved you

I didn't know

That a man could reach a soul

With a simple touch of the hand.

Never have I met a person

That made me feel the way you do

Who I can be holding close

Yet still, crave

Who I could understand

Yet know there is more left to uncover

Who I loved truly

Who made me realize

That there could be no other
