The Sun Behind the Moon

You were the sun behind the moon.

You gave the dark times light.

There was nothing you had to do,

But you helped me in my fight.

Sometimes the moon was full,

Other times just a sliver in the sky

Barely enough to withstand the night,

But it was always enough.

Now the Sun is gone.

The night is dark and

The moon won’t shine.

The sun belongs to the day

Where it’s fighting it's way

Through the clouds

So you can shine for yourself.
