The Sun Isn’t Shining
Self protection is always needed,
skin made of the whipped laborers.
Back as hard as the scars left from
the hard crack of lashing, I am thick as tree bark.
The sun isn't shining, I set foot into the building
all eyes are on me as I enter, footstep to footstep,
the wandering blue orbs never leave my path.
Face covered by a dark hood, dark enough to see
the shining of the purest soul, my eyes are not seen as
I stare directly back into the taunting crowd that has now gathered around me.
Self protection is always needed, as I hear the faint
whispers come to a halt as I enter through the back room door.
